what we can do

NurseAid can give grants of money to those who need our support. These can be single ‘one off’ grants to help with bills or purchases for example or regular grants to help with day to day living expenses.

We can help a wide range of people – from those who are older and are living on limited means to those who, through no fault of their own, are finding it difficult to cope.

We are able to assist Registered Nurses who have had a minimum of three years post registration service.
We can assist student nurses in exceptional circumstances such as sudden ill health or in a crisis situation. However we cannot ‘top up’ nursing bursaries or pay for study fees.

We can also help nursing auxiliaries who have given at least five years service in a hospital. We may also be able to consider giving help to other auxiliaries who have five years service under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse such as those with the Marie Curie Community Nursing Service.

As well as single grants, NurseAid also makes regular grants of between £5 and £30 per week to over 300 nurses and auxiliary nurses each year.

What we cannot do

We cannot assist with the payment of debt, rents, council tax, residential / nursing home fees, bankruptcy fees, funeral expenses or educational expenses. We do not make loans; nor make awards to applicants outside the UK.

If We Cannot Help

If you do not fit into the categories of people we are able to assist, please go to our alternative support page for information on other agencies and funds who may be able to help you.
